After a year away from the team he had played for since 2010, Carlos Santana is once again an Indian after Cleveland sent Edwin Encarnacion to Seattle in exchange for the first baseman.
Santana played for the Indians from 2010-2017 as a terrible catcher and good first baseman. He left the Tribe before the 2018 season to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he had a somewhat down season before being traded to the Mariners. A couple weeks later, he was traded again, this time back to Cleveland.
The Cleveland Mocks staff reacts to the acquisition of Santana:
Ryan – “They didn’t even have to give up Casey Blake to get Carlos this time. That’s a steal.”
Sam – “Hopefully Carlos finally learned some plate discipline in his time away from the Indians.”
Josh – “First the return of Delly and now this? Cleveland is really trying to recreate championship rosters.”
