A day after it was widely reported that the Browns were aggressively shopping cornerback Joe Haden, the team released him early Wednesday morning.
That move ends a seven-year run in Cleveland for the former No. 7 overall pick. He made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and 2014 but failed to live up to his large contract the last few years due to injuries and declining performance.
The Cleveland Mocks staff reacts to the surprising cut below:
Sam: “I know it’s a business, but it hurts to lose a basketball fan of his caliber.”
Ryan: “It seems like just five years ago he was a great corner.”
Josh: “I wonder how losing his part-time job will affect his shoe business.”
Editor’s note: We here at Cleveland Mocks thank Joe for brightening up some awful seasons and being a great representative for the city.
