Report: Dwane Casey fired for not having LeBron James

Last week, the Toronto Raptors made waves in the NBA world by firing head coach Dwane Casey, despite him leading them to a 59 win regular season and a #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Today, Raptors president Masai Ujiri shed some light on the shocking move.

“Ultimately, Coach Casey didn’t have LeBron on our team” said the former NBA executive of the year. “Coach did a lot of great stuff for this franchise, but when it came down to it, he never was able to have LeBron James on our team, and that was his fatal flaw.”

This move comes on the heels of the Cavaliers sweeping the Raptors in the playoffs, and eliminating them for the third straight year. While Coach Casey did express gratitude to the Raptors organization, he did mention he wishes Ujiri and the front office could have signed a LeBron stopper this past off-season.
